Summer Time!

Spring Break is around the corner and that means Summer is just months away, it’s time to plan those Summer Vacations! A perfect place to adventure with both friends and family is Key West, Florida.

I wanted to share with you a few of my favorite places to explore while in the area. The first thing I will recommend is, RENT BIKES for the week! The roads are mostly bike/scooter friendly, so it’s a fun and inexpensive way to adventure around.

Since I’m very into breakfast and my husband LOVES coffee, there are a few different breakfast places I wanted to share with you below!

Cuban Coffee Queen                    Keys Coffee Co.

Cuban Coffee Queen has an amazing Cuban Breakfast Burrito, I recommend getting it with the Chorizo and their Cuban Queen Mix sandwich is to die for!

The Waterfront Brewery

Looking for a place to relax in the middle of the day or to have a big dinner, The Waterfront Brewery is great for all occasions. They have beers and mixed drinks with plenty of high quality seafood and American style food.  If you’re not sure what to start with, try the Calamari, I wasn’t a fan until I tried theirs. I’m also a major fan of their Crazy Lady Honey Blonde, but if you don’t want just want one beer, of course you can order a flight! After all, who goes to a brewery and doesn’t try all the craft beers?!

Simonton Street Beach

Simonton Street Beach is small and secluded, if you blink you’ll miss it. It’s a great little beach with a small bar, chair and umbrella rentals. This is one of the few beaches made with sand. I would recommend wearing water shoes when going to the other beaches since they are made up of left over shells and coral washing up to shore.

Lazy Dog Adventures

I can’t say enough good things about the Lazy Dog Adventures staff and overall experience. If you enjoy learning more about the islands, the ecosystems and animals; really getting in the thick of it all, spend your mid-morning on a Lazy Dog Kayak Tour!

I’ve been on the Kayak tour two different times and both times I learned new things about the Florida Keys and got the chance to see different animals in their natural habitats!

Ultimate Adventure – All Day – Fury Adventures

A Catamaran, Jet skis, Parasailing, Water inflatables, and snorkeling all in one day? That’s right, we spent the whole day enjoying a day out on the ocean, with a light breakfast, lunch, snacks and all you can drink beer included, lead by the great teammates from Fury Adventures!

Mallory Square – Downtown Key West

In the evenings, Mallory Square and Downtown Key West are the places to be! With plenty of restaurants lining Duval Street and the sunset lighting up Mallory Square as the street performers entertain, this is a place for all ages!

It doesn’t matter what your “thing” is; there is plenty of entertainment. There are museums, evening ghost tours, bar and grills with live music, dance clubs, plenty of places to shop and plenty of places to eat!

No matter what your summer brings, I hope this helps to inspire a little more adventure in your life, whether you’re having a stay-cation or venturing across the globe, try to immerse yourself in the local culture! You won’t be disappointed!

“Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all.”
